Maybe I’m the only one. But every time a “What Car Should You Buy” article is posted, I try to make the Transit Connect fit their criteria.
I mean, we all know the minivan is the most versatile vehicle ever.

Yes but instead of the Connect an AWD Sienna
UPDATE: the 2020 Transit Connect has an AWD Option
my god

If AWD is absolutley necessary, yes. Otherwise good snow tires will suffice. Plus, n o mechanical hand brake lever in a Sienna.

As a former Ford Aerostar owner I agree 100%.

ok you say that but I cannot think of a single situation that a quattro-swapped
Mk3 Golf Variant wouldn’t be the single best option

AWD and Ecoboost.
My god my god

i just pick whatever takes my fancy and completely ignore the criteria
i dont give a shit what car you should buy and just want to post a pretty picture and make up reasons why you need it

If we’re talking one off variants, that’s a whole different world. RS swapped Transit Connect is the absolute choice then.

Seems like the FP writers do that already

well...even a broken clock is right twice a day
![]() 01/24/2020 at 12:02 |

I don’t think that’s true. you’re thinking of the full-size Transit.

too tall, can’t track it

Hi, I own a Kia and I want to save money by buying a BMW.

Solution: Buy a Transit Connect

I always say chevy venture.
Nothing ventured nothing gained!

I cant think of any reason as to why a 1999 Pontiac Firebird TransAm would ever be the best option when it comes to buying a car. I mean sure it looks nice and has an LS1 but it’s not really practical nor is it comfortable.

It’s exactly tall as it is wide in cargo form; lower in wagon form . Swapping the suspension from an RS should lower that even more. I’m not sure the rules for the track, but in RallyCross the vehicle can’t be taller than it is wide.

I don’t think you can get the short body with AWD and EcoBoost :(

I must be doing it wrong. I always try to suggest an actual decent vehicle for the job.
If we’re just posting what we like, I should make every answer a GTI swapped VW Thing

It really is. Minivans are what an active family buys when they don’t give a shit what others think of them.

Correction, the full size Transit gets AWD and Ecoboost. The smaller Connect does not get either.

Only if it is the Looney Tunes version

March on Dearborn until this is corrected

Guys guys guy, you’re all forgetting what’s truly wrong with this statement . There is only one car that can fit every possible consumer need.

I always try and recommend something at least relevant
I fielded a question to r/askcarsales the other day and it was....not good.

An AWD Ecoboost TC would be fantastic. They did offer the 1.6 from the FiST in the TC for a while. And manual swaps are pretty common in europe.

Minivans: for the active family that DGAF.

I can’t think of any reason why it wouldn’t be.

This is true, and I love it. Personally, the car that I try to convince everyone to buy is the Chevy Corvair. I believe there is a Corvair for everybody. Want a practical wagon? The Corvair wagon has a freaking FRUNK and a roof rack along with plenty of room for cargo in the back. Need more space still? There are several Corvair vans and trucks. Sedan? Corvair sedan. Fun car? Corvairs are American Porsches. Need a boat? Th ere’s even an amphibious Corvair!
Corvairs are wonderful. Who cares about Ralph Nader, anyway?

Nader? Barely know er!

No flak from me. I feel the majority of them need to just get over their fragile self image and buy a damn minivan.

I found out the Sienna comes with a 280 hp v6 engine. AND AWD!!!!! WHAT IS THIS, WHATS GOING ON, WHY AM I SCREAMING.......

I too like the Transit Connect.

yeeeeeah but was it competitive?
Also autocross still isn’t racing
![]() 01/24/2020 at 13:30 |

Quite actually. Newer top end swap ( roughly 250hp/260ft-lbs ) , modded trans, lowered 2" on custom springs, heavy sway bars, 17s with sticky tires. Gave quite a few “performance” cars a run for their money on the track.
FYI, Racing is a competition of speed. Autox is testing one’s speed over a course via time, therefor autox is racing.
